Lenders and borrowers

Is it possible to totally forget you owe somebody?

I said totally because I know some people genuinely forget but then they always remember later, apologize and return what belongs to you.

I ask this question because I've had countless experiences of people owing me money or something without paying back and I just had to blog about it. It’s really annoying because usually I end up not asking them for it.

Recently, one babe wore my fine slippers which I just bought without my permission and didn't return it. Even if she wasn't wearing it every day, she was seeing it so she couldn't have forgotten and she knew I was meant to travel with it. The thing pain me o as in e paaaiiinnn me. And this is just one out of so many experiences I've had.

I’m not here to rant or whine. I’m saying that if you owe somebody or you borrowed something from somebody please pay back or return it. Don’t say “no be 5K wetin he wan use 5K do”. No! Little things like this can spoil the relationship you have with people and if you need their help, they might not be willing to offer. If you don’t have it then explain to the person so he/she will know that at least you have it in mind. Please for future sake!

Maybe you've been owed or someone still owes hehehehe my dear don’t say I don’t know how to ask somebody for something. My eyes don clear! If it’s taking too long, remind. It’s possible that person thinks you've forgotten about it but how can you forget sef or the person genuinely forgot. If you need to forgive someone please do that and if you still need to help somebody do that too but apply wisdom.

I love my blogfam. muah!

Its a weekend!

On a “just there” Saturday afternoon, I’m seated with a computer in front of me, looking into space and thinking of what to write about but all I can hear is the sound of a talking drum and now trumpets.

This traditional wedding is taken too long. Worse, I wasn’t even invited at least the Amala and ewedu mixed with gbegiri  I saw one man eating there would have compensated or no maybe I would have settled for rice and beef make I no go fall my hand for public.

Now this Traditional marriage is making me think of how mine will be; instead of a live band there will be a DJ and he won’t play just any kind of song in fact if it must be ibo then it must be “arabanko” or by Flavour. hehehehe

The groom, choi, that guy is lucky blessed! No be everybody dey see dis kind correct babe marry na. *wink*

Before mine takes place let me get ready for Ud and Ama’s (my sisters) own. At least there I know I will even have ‘take away’.

For now, let me drink my garri with joy, milk and sugar. I love it!

Okay I hope your weekend is far more interesting than mine.

Enjoy every bit of it!

Just because it’s today…

We will be full of cheer…

We will live, love and learn…

We will look our best…

We will be caring and welcoming...

We will be grateful…

We will say TGIT (thank God it’s Tuesday)

Not just because it’s our birthday or because we got a promotion, but because we understand that at the end of it all, everyday counts and that even the Mondays we all dread would be a perfect gift for another.

Today is the future we talked about yesterday and by tomorrow will be the past.

Just because it’s today, raise a glass of wine or buy yourself this…

Have a lovely day blogfam * blowing kisses just because it’s today* hehehe

Not by hustle…

Seated in one of the popular yellow buses of Lagos going to Oshodi, almost squeezed beyond recognition, I resolved one more time in my heart that my car is coming soon abeg. Thank goodness i sat by the window.

It’s only normal now to see a hawker running after a moving vehicle in Nigeria but this time around I couldn’t help but think about the fact that he probably woke up that morning and said “Lord bless my hustle”.

I’m not saying it’s his fault that he hawks on the street. Who am I to judge! But I have a serious problem with hustling.

In case you haven’t noticed, people who earn more are not those that work the hardest if not the brick layers, hawkers, “kpom kpom” carriers should be the richest in the world. You must work but then it’s not the work that should determine what you will turn out to be but God. He can bless you beyond what you earn. Don’t limit God to your salary. If you are in business, He can open several doors. If you have the mind of a hustler, then you depend on what you can do for yourself alone which is limiting because He can do much more. Shift your trust from that job or business to a limitless God; a source that can never run dry, an account that can NEVER go red, and then you will see your finances take a new turn.

Blogfam, God forbid you lose that job, or that business collapses then wat happens? But you know God cannot be lost, He cannot collapse or fail. It is the blessing of God that makes rich and as a child of God, (aren’t you?) you carry the blessing. All you have to do is recognize and be conscious of it.

Hey! what do you need or desire, trust God today for it and take a step, price that car mehn or the house; remember that we will testify.

Okay I know I sound like my Pastor

Have a blessed week. muuahh!!

Rich but stupid?

I don’t want to know who would sleep in the many rooms in the mansions they live in…

Or the number of cars they have…

I don’t even want to know what they need the private jets for…

All I want to know is if it’s a product of “good success”

If it is then I know I would be stupidly rich as well

Just like this guy…

Stupid enough to buy my own yacht

Just like he did...

Where are the haters?

Ilove you too..

When he is interested…

So I can write about this comfortably as I have plenty experience; as a sweet girl na.*cut eye*.

Guys thank me later and direct that babe to this blog so she'll get a clue. Ladies, even if he’s interested but you know he is not the one then by all means fashi o but please do that nicely. Now bring out your pen and paper.

Not a coincidence!

It’s no coincidence that you see him around the place you go through when coming back from work, school, near your church or where he knows you’d likely be. He knows what he is doing. But then it could also be a coincidence o. But you suppose know sha.

Shows interest in the things you like

For example you like writing like me and then he goes out of his way to get you a material that could be of help. Once somebody went out of his way (i think) to give  me one “chimamanda thing” and yes he was interested. He’d also want to find more ways to relate with you and share experiences and opinions.

Tries to get your attention

Through chats, calls, sms, facebook, twitter etc. And also if you say something and you sef know say that thing no funny like that but he laughs as if na basket mouth dey tell joke or if you catch him starring at you frequently. Yes o why will somebody just be looking at you like that every time? or just like my pastor would say he lives at ikorodu and comes to pick you up from okoko where you live to take you to your place of work on the island. hehehe

So with these few points of mine I hope…

Disclaimer: I don’t support ladies asking guys out so if you read this and you think he is interested and you now want to ask him out then “OYO is your case” *inritadominic’svoice*

Catch ya!

Pro?

After church service one Sunday, I walked into a fast food to eat. I was miles away from home at that time. (I’m explaining myself so they will not think I went to do solo things. They know themselves!)
So I ordered the usual rice and chicken and jejely went to have my sit. I was enjoying the meal but of course it would have been more tasty if I prepared it myself *shines teeth* lol.
I was minding my own business o until I saw this pretty young lady kneeling in front of this guy who was on his sit. I thought she probably offended him and was begging for forgiveness so I said good for her. But as I ate I couldn’t help but glance at them and then it looked like the guy was praying for her; again I said to myself maybe he is her pastor. But I started moping when I saw someone taking pictures of them. Abeg I had to find out what was going on jor so I unleashed my detective skills.

The pretty young lady was still kneeling but this time the guy was holding her left hand with one hand and a ring with the other hand. So it was meant to be a proposal but guess what? He didn’t ask the “will you marry me” question instead he said something like “I engage you in the name of the Father, Son and the Holy Spirit”. Omo! I no fit laugh.

Please is it only me or do you also see something wrong with this kind of proposal? Mine must be romantic o so take note! lol and I will marry well.

I just had to chip in this picture. I love the car and she’s also pretty. That’s AY’s (the comedian) wife and that’s the car he bought for her sometime last year. Guys take a cue from this. *wink*

N.B: I want to hear from you guys so drop your comments below and also follow me on twitter @chillynonye (I’m new though) or facebook “Nonye Uhegwu”.
Enjoy your day!

Yaaay!!!

My son godson turns one today! Happy birthday Chisom! Mummy loves you. lol.

CB Special: Agbani Darego

I love this lady not just because she is beautiful...

but also because she made something for herself out of it. She was the only finalist to wear a maillot as opposed to the bikini in the 2001 Miss Universe competition. That’s daring to be different! Yea we all know she won the 2001 Miss World pageant. To stand out in life, it takes diligence and dedication. Making money doing what you love is the ish mehn…

Bemused…

It was one of those days that sleep was more enticing because of the gentle wind in the early hours of the morning. Thankfully also, it was one of those days I could afford to give in to the temptation. I eventually crawled out of bed by 10.30a.m. I had plans for the day which included thinking of a way to baffle Tunde unexpectedly; we had a bet the previous night and I was determined to win. The thought of my victory made me smile. I was already behind schedule; but as they say better late than never. At about 11.45a.m., I was ready to hit the road. I headed towards where I could get a cab when I noticed I had forgotten my purse at home. On my way back, a young man of say about 18 years of age walked towards me. I kept a straight face and acted like I didn’t notice; with a mind that he was one of those precocious children of nowadays, who couldn’t differentiate between their mates and those who were actually older but looked younger than their age. I fell under the category of the latter.

“Hello” he called, once, twice, I didn’t answer.

“Aunty please wait”.  Alright it wasn’t what I presumed, so I stopped.

“Can I help you?” I asked.

“Yes, please my uncle in that black jeep over there wants to speak with you”

“So I wasn’t absolutely wrong!” I mumbled under my breath.

“Does he use a wheel chair?”

“No”

“Then tell your uncle that if he wants to talk to me, he should get down from the car-no-tell him I don’t want to speak with him, I don’t even have time to waste”

He walked away. Even though I am 29 and I want to get married soon I would not condense for any arrogant and bigheaded brute, besides I am in a serious relationship. I kept walking towards home then again I was accosted by two mean looking hefty men.

“Can I help you” I asked as I kept a moderate face and made sure I did not in any way appear intimidated even though I was.

“My boss wants to have a word with you” the uglier of them said.

Passers-by took a fearful glance at these guys and speedily walked past. I wondered who would help me if I got into real trouble or were they kidnappers? I thought.

“The same person the other guy…?”

“Yes”

“Who is your boss?”

“When you get there, you’ll find out”

Even though I might have eventually given in, I had no intention of doing so easily. With my confidence getting to its limit, I still blatantly refused.

“Madam we don’t have much time” the finer though ugly one said almost pleadingly.

We had spent about 10 minutes debating. I thought they were not as mean as I anticipated because to an extent, they had been reasonable and a bit nice but before I realized what was happening, I was on his shoulders-the finer one.

“Drop me down” I screamed.

To think I woke up feeling like the day was going to turn out good. I remembered I didn’t pray well that morning and immediately began to speak in tongues. I started hitting his back with my hands. Was my earlier assumption of them being kidnappers correct? If they were then they didn’t do their home work because I wasn’t that rich. People around had already started taking their heels. Surprisingly, he changed my position and carried me like a baby then again instead of taking me towards the direction of the car, he walked a certain distance and came back, and he spun me around.

“What are you doing?” I said, this time smiling a bit, not because I wanted to but because I always enjoyed being carried that way and for a moment I forgot it was being done by a total and rather suspicious stranger.

“Now let’s meet the boss” he said.

He took me into the car.

“Baby I missed you; I know you love being spun that way”

The voice sounded familiar, he looked familiar, and all of a sudden the car also appeared familiar. The boss was -no- is my love, Tunde.

I had been tricked.

I smiled and frowned at the same time.

“That was a big risk you took there” I said.

“I love you too” was the only thing he could utter. He couldn’t stop laughing.

At least I was convinced about one thing: Tunde had read me like a book and yes, he won the bet.

The story is fiction o. Hope you enjoyed it anyway. But seriously if you found yourself in that situation what will you do? Me, I would have used my taekwondo skills on those guys...

and live to tell the story…hehehehe
